The BDR stands for the "Bund Deutscher Radfahrer". It is the German cycling association that promotes and organizes various disciplines of cycling. The BDR is a member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Radfahrer (BDRV) and represents the interests of cyclists in Germany at national and international level.
The tasks of the BDR include the organization of cycling events, the promotion of competitive sport, the development of popular sport and the representation of the interests of cyclists to other institutions. The association is divided into various state associations that take on regional tasks and promote cooperation at the local level.
The BDR is responsible for various cycling disciplines, including road racing, mountain biking, track cycling, BMX and cycle touring. It is also responsible for nominating German cyclists for international competitions and championships.
In Germany, there are other organizations and associations besides the BDR that promote cycling. However, the BDR is the most important and largest cycling association in the country and plays a central role in the development and promotion of cycling in Germany.
