Fully E-MTB – the practical mountain bike with electric drive

A fully E-MTB is a robust, full-suspension mountain bike that will help you master agile trails and bumpy routes. Our MYVELO models Himalya, Denver and Palermo offer you lots of riding fun and a well-thought-out suspension system. This means you can ride safely off-road and achieve new sporting goals.

Hardtail vs. fully e-mountain bike

The biggest difference between a hardtail and a fully e-mountain bike is the area of use. The hardtail has no shock absorbers in the rear, but a fully suspended front wheel. Depending on the model's equipment, moving parts are installed, which reduces maintenance effort. A frame made of sturdy aluminum ensures good rigidity. A hardtail is suitable for day trips, easy downhill passages and rides on forest paths. With a pure hardtail, you should expect slightly less traction and stability than with a fully.

Advantages Hardtail

  • low weight
  • low maintenance
  • hardly any maintenance required

The term fully is derived from full suspension and means fully suspended. A fully e-mountain bike is ideal for downhill riding because it has strong suspension.

Advantages Fully

  • secure stability
  • good traction
  • more speed

Himalaya E-MTB – strong performance and low weight

With the Himalaya E-MTB you are well on your way on off-road adventures. We have installed high-quality components for the e-bike and ensured a balanced ratio between agile riding and rigidity. You can get the Himalaya with a battery capacity of 504 Wh or 630 Wh. The e-bike is also equipped with the most modern drive system from Shimano.

The high-quality technology and the well-thought-out frame geometry make the model an expert when it comes to downhill passages. The stable frame ensures that our Himalaya mountain bike stays on track and is very maneuverable at the same time. With a torque of 85 Nm, you get additional support on steep climbs by operating the electric motor via remote control.

Plus point : The Himalaya is equipped with an EP8 mid-engine, which reacts precisely to pedal pressure. Safety and driving pleasure are combined.

The model also has an air fork that is particularly easy to operate from the handlebars. A hydraulic disc brake ensures safety and the Schwalbe Smart Sam wheels ensure that you always stay on track.

Denver E-MTB – powerful model for excursions

The Denver E-MTB is the right model if you want to be safe off-road. The lightweight hardtail combines the stability and traction of a full suspension bike with the lightness of a hardtail.

Tip : We have equipped our Denver e-mountain bike with additional attachment points so that you can convert it for everyday use in just a few steps. Luggage racks, mudguards and LED lighting make the mountain bike safe and practical even in traffic.

Mid-engines ensure that the weight of the bike is well distributed, which is why we use a mid-engine in our Denver model. The powerful output of 70 Nm and 250 watts supports you on steep climbs.

Palermo E-MTB – a stylish eye-catcher in everyday life

Our MYVELO Palermo E-MTB is available in the stylish colors gray and copper. As with the other models, we rely on a battery capacity of 504 Wh or 630 Wh so that you can travel well in the city or in the country. The lightweight hardtail Palermo combines many comfortable features.

Practical advantage: The Palermo mountain bike has a low entry. This allows you to easily get on your bike and start your ride.

The powerful Shimano Steps mid-engine with 60 Nm is ideal for braving the asphalt roads in the city and the bumpy paths in the countryside. The Suntour Raidon air suspension fork supports the handling characteristics of the full suspension bike and ensures a pleasant ride. High-quality Schwalbe wheels and a reliable hydraulic disc brake ensure the necessary safety.

Fully or hardtail e-mountain bike – which model is right for me?

You can answer the question of when a full suspension or a hardtail is worth it for you in just a few minutes if you consider the most important points. If you also take a test ride in our MYVELO FlagShip Store, you are sure to find the right e-mountain bike.

Fully E-Mountainbike – for gravel roads, bumpy trails and sporty downhill passages

The fully E-MTB has strong suspension and is suspended on both the front and rear wheels. Thanks to the strong suspension, the fully stays firmly on the ground and offers you safe traction. Overall, a fully offers more comfort on uneven roads and more safety off-road.

Tip : On many models, the suspension can be individually adjusted to suit your driving style and terrain.

Hardtail E-Mountainbike – light, low-maintenance and uncomplicated

A hardtail is less agile to ride than a fully MTB . The stiff frame makes the bikes more demanding and you need more technique to master the descent safely. The advantages of the bikes are the reduced maintenance effort and the low weight. If you want to ride on moderate trails and plan to use your e-mountain bike on more than just challenging forest trails, a hardtail is a good choice.

Fully E-MTB wheels – what you should pay attention to

If you want to buy a fully E-MTB, you can choose between two different wheel sizes. Our E-bikes are equipped with either 29-inch or 27.5-inch wheels. Both sizes have their advantages and can be easily compared with each other.

27.5-inch wheels:

  • E-bikes of this size are more maneuverable
  • the weight of 27.5-inch wheels is lower
  • the size enables rapid acceleration
  • uphill you ride with less effort

29-inch wheels

  • more stable on uneven surfaces such as stones
  • less energy needed
  • additional comfort through increased damping of the wheels
  • safe ground contact and the associated smooth running

If the area where you use your e-bike is very uneven and consists of bumpy, rocky paths, a large wheel size is more comfortable. The larger the wheels, the better they absorb unevenness in the ground.

Tip : 29-inch wheels often require a large frame and are therefore suitable for people over 180 cm tall.

If you are travelling on winding terrain, the agile and maneuverable 27.5-inch wheels are the better choice. With them, you can expect speed and agility on narrow paths.

Buy the best fully e-MTB online In order to buy a high-quality fully e-MTB online, it is helpful to consider the following points:

  • Model: A hardtail is not the right choice for every rider. Think carefully beforehand about how you want to ride your e-bike. If you have mastered various riding techniques, a hardtail will not cause you any problems even off-road. If you want more safety and comfort, a full suspension bike is the better choice.
  • Area of use: If you are riding your mountain bike on bumpy trails and challenging downhill sections, a full-suspension e-mountain bike is the right choice. If you want your bike to also perform well on straight stretches or in the city, the middle ground, a light hardtail, is a good choice.
  • Wheel size: Depending on the model, the wheels vary in size. If you are sure from the outset that larger wheels suit your riding style better, choose a model with the appropriate equipment.

To help you find your way around the MYVELO online shop, we have linked the appropriate models Himalaya, Denver and Palermo above. This will give you good help in your search for the right e-mountain bike.

Die wichtigsten Informationen in unserem FAQ praktisch zusammen gefasst

The price of a full-suspension e-MTB depends on the manufacturer and the components. Our MYVELO models in this category cost between €4,500 and €7,500, placing them among the high-end e-bike models.

A full-suspension e-MTB is always worthwhile if you frequently ride on uneven terrain, forest and gravel paths, or steep downhill sections. The additional suspension provides comfort and safety in these situations.
