A Sclaverand valve, also known as a French valve or Presta valve , is a special valve commonly used on road bikes and other high-end bicycles. It is narrower and longer than the standard Schrader valve (common on car tires) and requires an adapter to connect to most compressors or pumps.

Main features of the Sclaverand valve:

Narrower design: It is thinner than a Schrader valve, making it ideal for narrower rims.
Valve screw: The valve has a small screw that must be opened before inflating and closed again after pumping to prevent air from escaping.
Higher pressure: It is often used on tires designed for higher pressures, such as those used on racing bikes.

The Presta valve has the advantage of being less susceptible to damage and providing better air sealing.
