The young team MYVELO continues its impressive development.
At the traditional Grand Prix Vorarlberg, Nils Brun from Bern took the next big step: with a strong 8th place, he secured the first UCI world ranking points in the team's history for the German-Swiss racing team from Oberkirch.
A milestone – achieved through a convincing tactical and team performance.
Difficult course, strong field
Just a few days after the challenging Tour of Asturias, MYVELO's next race was already on the agenda: the GP Vorarlberg in Nenzing, a classic on the Austrian cycling calendar. The 165-kilometer course featured undulating terrain, technically challenging descents, and a selective final lap – exactly the right terrain for aggressive, daring racing.
Right at the start, a five-man breakaway group formed and quickly pulled away from the peloton by several minutes. While the main field acted hesitantly for a long time and failed to make any serious headway, the favorites' deficit grew to over five minutes at times.

MYVELO takes command
It wasn't until the final three laps that the picture changed – and MYVELO was the catalyst. Led by Jakob Schmidt (Erfurt), the team, along with Luca Jenni (Altnau, Thurgau), Miron Lipp (Freiburg), Andrin Züger (Felsberg, GR), Timon Loderer (Kiefersfelden), and Nils Brun (Bern), organized the decisive pace work. With bold attacks on the vicious climbs and clever maneuvering on the tight descents, the field splintered – and the race was open again.
Strong final phase – and almost the big coup
Nils Brun, in particular, showed great strength in the final stages. Despite a brief setback caused by several crashes on the first technical descent, he managed to hold his own in a small chasing group. Together, they chased the leading group and came dangerously close to eventual winner Jaka Marolt (Slovenia) in the final kilometer.
After 165 demanding kilometers, Brun crossed the finish line in eighth place – just 14 seconds behind the stage win. In addition to this respectable achievement in a strong international field, this also meant that MYVELO had secured its first UCI World Ranking points.

Another step forward
"It was an absolutely solid team effort," the team management and sports director summarized unanimously. "We showed that we can hold our own against established teams – and that we're brave enough to shape races."
The result in Vorarlberg not only increases the team's confidence, but also the attention it receives in international cycling. MYVELO proves that a young project can be successful with a clear plan, hard work, and team spirit.
Next races already in sight
Resting for long isn't an option: the next matches are already scheduled for May 12 and 13 – in Bern and Märwil, Switzerland. The goal remains the same: To gain experience, grow as a team, and make the next sporting mark.
