Three strong performances at Grand Besançon Doubs, Tour du Jura and Tour du Doubs

The young MYVELO team delivered an impressive team performance over the Easter holidays in three highly competitive UCI 1.1 races in France. Our riders held their own against top-class World Tour competition with commitment, tactics, and fighting spirit – and impressed with top results and the first special jersey in the team's history.

🏁 Grand Besançon Doubs – Friday April 18th

At the traditional and highly rewarded one-day race in the French Jura, the MYVELO team led by Road Captain Timon Loderer showed a harmonious and convincing performance.

Despite a tire puncture that set him back during a crucial phase of the race, sprint specialist Tillmann Sarnowski secured second place in the overall sprint classification and even won an intermediate sprint. He also took third place in another sprint and the first mountain classification – a strong day for the 20-year-old from Nufringen.

Nils Brun also rode an aggressive race, was well positioned by the team, and was among the frontrunners. Only on the very steep, five-kilometer final climb did he have to admit defeat – and narrowly missed out on the first UCI World Ranking points of the season.

Overall, the German-Swiss MYVELO team presented itself as united, courageous, and tactically well-coordinated – and not only collected results but also a lot of recognition from the riders.

⛰️ Tour du Jura – Saturday, April 19

What was already apparent the day before continued at the Tour du Jura: The MYVELO Continental Team was not intimidated by the big World Tour teams in this demanding UCI 1.1 race.

The team was consistently present – in the peloton, in breakaways, and on the climbs. Although they ultimately didn't secure a ranking, the race once again demonstrated how well the team works as a unit. The riders were attentive, rode actively, and impressed with their concentration, fighting spirit, and teamwork.

🥇 Tour du Doubs – Sunday, April 20

On Easter Sunday, the strong weekend was crowned with a real highlight:
Jan Sommer from Andwil (St. Gallen) won the sprint classification and thus took home the first special jersey in the history of MYVELO!

His teammates – especially Timon Loderer, Christoph Janssen (Emmental) and Miron Lipp (Freiburg) – launched Sommer optimally and enabled him to ideally exploit his sprinting strength and rouleur qualities.

Jakob Schmidt (Erfurt) and Nils Brun also rode another strong race. Brun was part of the breakaway despite a crash and, like Schmidt, was at the front of the first peloton for a long time. An all-around strong team performance!

🔜 Outlook: Vuelta a Asturias

The next big challenge awaits next Thursday: The MYVELO team will be competing in the Vuelta a Asturias in Spain.
