Cadence refers to the pedaling frequency of a cyclist, i.e., how many times a cyclist completes a full rotation of the pedals per minute. It is measured in revolutions per minute (rpm). A high cadence means that the pedals are moved quickly but with comparatively little force; a low cadence, on the other hand, is associated with greater force being used while pedaling more slowly.
Many experienced cyclists aim for an optimal cadence between 80 and 100 rpm, as this protects the musculoskeletal system, allows muscles to work more efficiently, and improves endurance performance. However, the correct cadence depends on training status, the terrain (e.g., incline), the type of bike ( road bike, mountain bike, e-bike), and personal preference.
Some modern bike computers or e-bike displays show the current cadence in real time – it is an important parameter in training and for improving efficiency on the bike.

Rugged forest paths, stony trails, muddy forest roads – if you want to travel off-road, you need the right vehicle. Off-road capable e-scooters have been promising adventure without pedaling for several years. At the same time, e-MTBs have long established themselves as serious off-road machines. But what is really the better choice for true off-road riding? We honestly compare both concepts – from off-road capability to the legal situation in Germany.
E-bike batteries are the heart of every e-bike. They supply the energy that powers the motor and thus significantly determine the bike's range, performance, and lifespan. However, you often hear that constant charging damages the battery. We debunk this myth and show you how to properly care for your battery.
I am passionate about cycling. For years. In the rain, in the cold, through city traffic, over country roads. For me, the bicycle is not a second-class means of transport – it's my favorite.
