Single trail

A single trail is a narrow path or trail, often only accessible by a single bicycle, that is specifically designed for mountain biking. In contrast to wider paths or forest roads, single trails are narrow and often lead through challenging terrain, such as forests, mountains or narrow paths in hilly terrain.

These trails often contain natural obstacles such as roots, stones, rocks, slopes, tight turns and climbs. Singletrack trails provide a varied and challenging riding environment for mountain bikers and often require technical skills to ride safely.

The term "singletrack" comes from the fact that these trails are only wide enough for a single bike, meaning that oncoming cyclists or hikers can often pose a challenge as there is little room to give way.

This type of trail is very popular with mountain bike enthusiasts as they offer an intense riding experience and allow for a variety of challenges and adventures in nature. Singletrack trails can have different levels of difficulty, from beginner trails with less technical obstacles to advanced trails that challenge experienced riders.
